Evaluation of the Comprehensive Community Mental Health Services for Child and Their Families Program   The purpose of the Comprehensive Community Mental Health Services for Children and Their Families Program is to help States, local communities, and Native American tribal organizations develop community-based, family-focused, and culturally competent mental health services. ORC Macro and Walter R. McDonald & Associates, Inc. (WRMA) are conducting the national evaluation of the 2005-funded grantees of this program. ORC Macro conducted the national evaluation since the inception of the program in 1993. WRMA joined the team in 2005. The evaluation of the 2005-funded grantees will include evaluations at the local level and at the national level. The national evaluation team will provide technical assistance to local communities on the national evaluation processes and procedures. Each local evaluation will look at the characteristics of children and families served as well as the outcomes of receiving services. The national evaluation will examine the systems of care, including how they developed, service costs and utilization patterns, and system characteristics that make the community infrastructure sustainable. As in previous years, results will be used to inform local program development and provide a basis for State and Federal policy development. Project findings will be disseminated throughout the professional community and to Congress.
