Walter
R. McDonald & Associates Inc.
(WRMA)'s greatest strength is the extensive and nationwide
experience of our professional staff and the high-quality managerial
and technical consulting services that these professionals are able
to provide.
Overview
WRMA
draws upon almost a quarter of a century of extensive national,
regional, and local consulting experience working with public and
private human services agencies to evaluate and improve services
for children and families. Since the firm's founding in 1980, WRMA's
professional staff have conducted more than 300 customized, time-limited
projects for States, counties, and cities as well as for Federal
agencies, leading foundations, and national associations and consortia.
Many of these projects have focused on child and family welfare
issues and have required in-depth interaction with the client, the
study sites, and the communities. These projects also have included
literature reviews; policy-relevant hypothesis formulation; site
visits; focus group meetings; program, worker, and client surveys;
programming and processing of project-specific databases; and related
analyses and assessments.
WRMA
specializes in five service areas: Research, Evaluation, Strategic
Planning, National Data Collection and Reporting Systems, and Information
Systems development, for which the company has developed extensive
and impressive track records for its consulting services. In the
Information Systems development area we have built client assessment,
case management, and program and performance monitoring systems
for Federal, State, and community-based organizations. WRMA Research
services are directed at understanding the circumstances and consequences
of decision making behavior and building a knowledge base for improving
program administration, assessment tools, and staff training and
retention. During Evaluation projects, WRMA staff assesses the quality
of existing data and work to build the capacity of the agency to
develop and use data in day-to-day management, planning, and evaluation.
Our firm's approach to Strategic Planning is rooted in our knowledge
of what works in complex public sector environments taken from our
experience with more than 30 projects for States and local agencies.
With our National Data Collection and Reporting System services,
WRMA staff help state child welfare and social services agencies
collect, analyze, and disseminate national data.
