WRMA is assisting the Child Care Bureau in developing a methodology to measure child care payment eligibility and error rates in four States.

The objective of this study is to analyze and recommend options or methodologies to measure client eligibility error rates and to improve payment accuracy. WRMA will also test Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) Lead Agency systems to identify statistical and procedural factors that affect accuracy rates. The project will include state case studies and a Technology Review Conference to develop the use of information systems technology in preventing erroneous payments.

The research conducted by WRMA for this project will ultimately help to establish standards for child care eligibility error rates – enabling States to accurately distribute funds to needy families and children.
