FOX Systems, Inc. (FOX) and partner Walter R. McDonald & Associates, Inc. (WRMA) were selected by DHS to provide Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) and Quality Assurance (QA) Services for the Comprehensive Automated Child Care Management Information System (MIS) and SACWIS Graphical User Interface (GUI) development.

The scope of services to be performed are: proactive IV&V services; system development; lifecycle experience; independent system testing; and previous experience in integrating both Federal and state child care / welfare policies into an information system. Additional tasks are: preparing an independent SACWIS Assessment Review Guide (SARG) response document, monitoring; tracking; and coordinating resource allocations; conducting an ongoing risk assessment and validation of all deliverables; and making recommendations to ensure a successful outcome. One of the project’s final deliverables will be the preparation of the Project Evaluation / Lessons Learned report, which will include best practice recommendations to support DHS in embedding QA quality assurance and IV&V into current and future operations and projects.

With the help of Fox Systems, Inc, and WRMA, DHS will be able to standardize system development and the enhancements on the Microsoft .NET platform, so that the most efficient and effective system will be available for improved delivery of child care and child welfare services in the state.
