The Child Care Bureau of DHHS was provided WRMA an extension to their Child Care Improper Payments project. Originally started in 2004, this project develops strategies to help States identify, measure, and prevent errors in the administration of Child Care Development Funds.
The focus of this project extension is to assist in implementing an error rate methodology for the child care subsidy program and to administer a State Internal Control Self Assessment Tool. Currently, the child care error rate study is being extended to five additional states and the State Internal Control Self Assessment tool is being pilot tested by representative states in each of the 10 regions. This project extension will continue through March 2007.
