WRMA received an award in 2005 from The California Endowment to conduct a four year external evaluation of the California Telemedicine and eHealth Center (CTEC) Network Development grant. The goal of the project is to assess the impact that telemedicine has had on the expansion of health services in rural communities in California. Tasks associated with this project include assessing the telemedicine project in four areas: collaboration and network development; impacts of education, training, and technical assistance; utilization and satisfaction with the use of technologies in delivering health services; and policy and business development. The philosophy supporting this work is that evaluation represents an important opportunity to assess achievements, generate knowledge, and cultivate learning. Evaluation should be an inclusive and adaptive process that allows for self-reflection. It should build the capacity of grantees and their communities to assess progress and identify challenges. In this way, evaluation processes and outcomes empower organizations and build learning communities. For More Information: CTEC Online
